One example highlighted in his story is Anthony Gant, a member of aSTEAM Village’s first student cohort. After participating in the program from fifth through twelfth grade, Anthony graduated from high school with scholarship funding and went on to attend Arizona State University. After graduating, he began his professional career with U-Haul International, where he became involved in vehicle electrification initiatives. He later joined the aSTEAM Village board, creating a full-circle example of how education and mentorship can influence long-term professional and community outcomes.

William Wells’ path toward entrepreneurship was shaped by an unexpected career disruption. Following a knee injury and subsequent layoff from a telecommunications company in 1999, he used his recovery period to rethink his professional direction and prepare to launch a telecommunications business.

This realization ultimately influenced his decision to establish a STEM education initiative that would help address the talent gap at an earlier stage.
