In many developing countries—including India—education is still viewed primarily through an academic lens, measured mostly by test scores and grade-level performance. Dr. Anjlee Prakash, Founder and Chairperson of Learning Links Foundation, established the organisation with the belief that learning can enrich lives far beyond the classroom. Guided throughout her career by the principle of Educate, Innovate, and Transform, her work has shaped both public and private education systems in meaningful, measurable ways.

As a techno-pedagogue, Dr. Anjlee has helped build some of India’s most influential charitable initiatives centered on technology-enabled learning. Alongside leading Learning Links Foundation, she has served in several significant positions, including Board Member at NIT Delhi, Mentor of Change for NITI Aayog, and Advisory Board Member for the Women’s Education Project. Her thought leadership in educational policy and practice has earned her wide respect and numerous recognitions.

Learning Links Foundation

Learning Links Foundation develops learning solutions that extend beyond conventional school curricula. Its focus is on enabling lifelong learning, closing educational gaps, and transforming how schools operate. The organisation works to strengthen educators through professional development while also equipping youth and adults with workplace readiness skills, financial literacy, and entrepreneurial abilities. Its innovation programs incorporate human-centered design thinking, encouraging creativity, resilience, and a growth mindset.

Over the last two decades, Learning Links Foundation has partnered with stakeholders across 27 countries. Its learning frameworks are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and address diverse challenges across the education sector.

The organisation is ISO 9001:2015 certified and accredited by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences and GuideStar India. Among its many recognitions is the Mahatma Award for Quality Education and Skilling (2021), which honours global leaders driving social impact.

What began as a team of ten has now grown into an organisation of more than 1,000 professionals. Its work has touched the lives of 1.8 million students, 2.2 million teachers, and over 6.8 million community members. “Our work has earned trust and respect,” Dr. Anjlee notes. “Today, we are privileged to serve as advisors on education strategy and systemic reform.”

Creating Opportunities for All Learners

Before launching Learning Links Foundation, Dr. Anjlee held a senior leadership role in the corporate sector. Transitioning into development work was a risk, but she felt compelled to act on what she observed around her. In India, many girls continue to be denied quality education, and children in government schools often lack exposure to strong learning environments. She believed education could be the equaliser—and wanted every child, adolescent, and adult, regardless of gender, geography, or economic status, to have access to quality learning.

This belief laid the foundation for Learning Links—a non-profit built on the idea that learning is a lifelong gene that must be nurtured.

Viewing Learning as a Lifelong Journey

The foundation’s vision—fostering purpose and progress through lifelong learning—drives every initiative. Dr. Anjlee explains that learning is not limited to textbooks or classrooms; it is the continuous process of turning experience and information into skills, behaviours, and attitudes. Learning encourages curiosity, problem-solving, and the ability to navigate uncertainty.

She highlights the central role of data in the organisation’s work. Programs are designed to collect and analyse relevant data, helping teams track progress and support evidence-based conversations with stakeholders. This approach has been instrumental in guiding policy discussions and shaping reforms in the larger education ecosystem.

Learning Links Foundation continuously re-evaluates its work and stays engaged with national education developments. It contributed to discussions during the creation of the National Education Policy 2020, which incorporates many ideas the foundation has long championed.

Understanding a Shifting Educational Landscape

The world has undergone dramatic changes in recent years, especially during the pandemic. The implications for the next generation are profound. Dr. Anjlee believes children today must be equipped not only with knowledge but with the ability to handle environmental, social, and economic challenges. Access to a good quality of life—including emotional well-being and essential skills—has never been more important.

Learning Links Foundation aims to prepare learners for dynamic, unpredictable situations. Its broader mission is to nurture young people who contribute positively to society and become thoughtful agents of change. Achieving this requires reimagining how children are engaged throughout their educational journeys.

A Relentless Commitment to Impact

Balancing personal and professional responsibilities, Dr. Anjlee says, feels like a juggling act—you may drop a few balls, but there is joy in the effort. Support from her family and core leadership team helps her stay grounded.

Her workday usually begins with a brief “huddle” with her senior team, followed by time dedicated to urgent decisions and approvals. She oversees organisational dashboards spanning compliance, HR, operations, business development, and financial performance. Fundraising outreach, policy reviews, risk assessments, and brand stewardship also fall under her purview.

Once internal matters are addressed, her attention shifts outward to donor meetings, stakeholder conversations, and advocacy efforts. As Chairperson, she also represents the foundation at national and international platforms.

Building the Future Through Innovation

Innovation has long been central to the foundation’s approach. Learning Links often customises strategies based on local needs and context, ensuring sustainable impact. With more than 20 years of experience implementing programs across diverse geographies, it is now a trusted resource for systemic reform and strategic guidance. The organisation’s best practices are rooted in field insights, data analytics, and thoughtful execution.

“Our advocacy work helps nonprofits, government agencies, and institutions respond to issues that influence policy and outcomes,” Dr. Anjlee explains. She sees the foundation strengthening its role as a provider of accurate ground-level insights to support decision-makers in improving educational systems.

For her, an important leadership value is staying future-focused. This means designing programs that can transform the learning ecosystem and remain relevant as the world evolves.

Quoting Eleanor Roosevelt—no knowledge is terminal—Dr. Anjlee believes that staying aware of emerging trends allows organisations to adapt, innovate, and seize new opportunities. In education, this is crucial. Learning Links Foundation is committed to nurturing the human potential that will shape tomorrow.

What Success Means to Anjlee: Caring, Empowering, Enjoying

For Dr. Anjlee, success is rooted in three ideas: caring about the world, empowering people through education, and enjoying the work one does. “Be concerned about the world you live in, contribute in whatever way you can, and—most importantly—love what you do,” she says.
